Scholarship Application- Higher Education
The Doylestown Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship for students applying to an institution of higher education. Scholarships will only be awarded to an applicant one time.
Children of a Doylestown AOH Division 3 member are not eligible to receive the Doylestown AOH Higher Education Scholarship. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. are eligible for the Doylestown AOH Higher Education Scholarship. Scholarship checks will be paid to the school the recipient is attending in the name of the scholarship recipient by August 31st, 2025.
Scholarship Criteria
The applicant must be of Irish descent and Catholic, be a member of a division feeder parish (Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Doylestown, St. Jude, Chalfont, St. Joseph Warrington, St. Robert, Warrington, St. Cyril of Jerusalem, Jamison and Our Lady of Guadalupe, Doylestown) and demonstrate the Ancient Order of Hibernian motto of dedication to Faith, Family, and Christian Charity.

− A 500-word essay answering the following question: How do faith, family, charity and your Irish heritage influence your daily life. MUST be a Word document. DO NOT send a Google or PDF document.
− A one-page resume outlining your most significant academic and athletic achievements, and community service activities. MUST be a Word document. DO NOT send a Google or PDF document.
− Use the format of this Section. Times New Roman, 12 pitch, line spacing 1.5 lines. Margins are; left .75”, right .5”, top and bottom .5”. This ensures that each essay and resume look exactly alike. Do not include any graphics.
− Attach your latest high school transcript. May be a PDF file.
− A letter of recommendation from a teacher, a school counselor, an athletic coach, or a supervisor from a community service project. May be a PDF file.

Emailing your essay and resume as Word documents is important because if there is a minor error it is easier for the coordinator to fix the error than to drive the applicant crazy trying to get a corrected copy back to us before the deadline. I will fix minor typos. I will not reformat the application, that is a deal breaker. Do not email from a CB school. The emails have in the past automatically reformatted as PDF files. Email it to yourself to make sure it goes the way you want it. Looking forward to some wonderful essays.
Applicants’ parents will be notified by email when the AOH Doylestown Scholarship committee receives your application prior to review and when scholarship selections are made.
